Org. Setting and Reporting
In this role the incumbent is responsible to the Construction Engineer or the head of the unit to which the incumbent is assigned.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical supervision, ensures contractors' adherence to drawings, specifications and materials, and exercises quality control.
- Maintains a measurement book.
- Arranges for testing of materials.
- Takes steps to ensure contractors' adherence to the set time schedule.
- Keeps a diary, recording day to day progress of construction.
- Prepares interim payments and final payment due to the contractor.
- Reports any discrepancies between contract documents and the work carried out by the contractor.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Education
A university degree recognized by UNRWA with the major specialization in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Job - Specific Qualification
Possession of a valid driving license. (Required)
Work Experience
Three years working experience of which two years should have been spent in maintenance/or construction and technical administration. (Required)
Languages
Fluency in English and Arabic is essential
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
Special Notice
- Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary from $1,448.30 for LDC contracts Or Daily Pay rate at $48.44 for daily paid contracts (6 working days per week) Or Daily Pay rate at $58.13 for daily paid contracts (5 working days per week).
- Working Hours: 37.5 Hours per week.
- Contract Duration, Leaves, other conditions of service and benefits may change depending on the type of contract.
