Community outreach workers (Health Educators):
Aid and Hope Program for Cancer Patients Care (AHP) is a non-profit non-governmental organization operating in the Gaza Strip since 2009.
AHP is seeking to hire ten (10) multiple motivated and experienced Community Outreach workers (Health Educators) to join our mobile team of healthcare educators providing services to vulnerable populations at risk of holistic health deficits related to COVID-19. As our mobile outreach team seeks to expand COVID-19 testing and vaccination opportunities for high-risk and underserved populations, this position will provide health information, education, and promote and encourage healthy public health measures to reduce mortality from COVID-19 and mitigate transmission in vulnerable populations.

» Location: Gaza City.
» Duration of Contract: 7 months.
» Report to: Project Coordinator.
The Community Outreach Mobilizer will support the project “Supporting community resilience against COVID-19 through community-based activities”, funded by USAID in partnership with International Medical Corps (IMC). The project will be implemented during seven months (February 2022 – August 2022) by Aid and Hope Program for Cancer Patients Care in Gaza.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Provide health education and information resources through structured health awareness sessions that supports individuals, families, and communities’ response to mitigating and preventing COVID-19 and distributing personal hygiene kits.
• Conduct community contact tracing and inform those who may have been exposed about self-quarantine, monitoring for symptoms, and next steps.
• Coordinate and facilitate comprehensive community education and engagement programs in relation to COVID-19, with emphasis on vulnerable and at-risk populations, to create cooperative and sustainable working relationships.
• Refer suspected cases for testing at the nearest health facility.
• Plan, implement, monitor, and assess methods that facilitate increased vaccination rates, access to services, and increase healthy and safe behaviors related to COVID-19 in vulnerable communities.
• Arrange and conduct household awareness visits to the vulnerable families.
Required skills and qualification:
• Bachelor/Diploma degree in Nursing, human sciences, medical sciences or other related fields.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in public health awareness.
• Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic and communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strong collaborative skills to work effectively and cooperatively with others and establish and maintain good working relationships.
• Ability to handle a variety of tasks, with good time management skills.
• Vaccinated.
