Responsibilities:
Checks and analyses the architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings to extract measurements and converts them into quantities; produces the total and description for each item; verifies and discusses with the Designers unclear items, discrepancies or irregularities to ensure accuracy and consistency;
Prepares cost estimates and cost analysis for valuation purposes (variation orders, claims, disputes, etc); carries out cost comparison for different types of construction systems and advises on feasibility and cost effectiveness;
Maintains cost information and database for the works under his/her responsibility; updates database for cost estimates to be used for construction and maintenance items price analysis;
Assists supervisor in carrying out random technical quality and cost verification of final accounts and Agency-supplied materials for construction and maintenance projects;
Participates in verification of interim and final project accounts when required;
Assists supervisor in documenting and maintaining records of taking-off sheets, standard forms for construction and maintenance works, specifications and other relevant form.

Education:
A university degree from an accredited educational institution in quantity surveying, civil engineering or a related discipline.
Work Experience
- At least two years’ experience in quantity surveying duties in construction and maintenance works.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in utilizing specialized quantity surveying software (billing, estimating, cost control and cash flow).
- Knowledge of the latest development of new materials, construction methods and low cost construction (desirable).
- Knowledge of market prices related to his/her line of work (desirable).
Languages:
Good knowledge of written and spoken English and Arabic.
Assessment:
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
Condition of service:
Monthly basic salary US$ 1259.40. Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).
