Consultant – Power BI Specialist for Service Desk Management (Local)

BACKGROUND
UNRWA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) that aims to enhance livelihood and human development opportunities to Palestine refugees in Gaza and all fields. By this new collaboration, UNRWA becomes a provider of Information Management, Technology services and capacity augmentation to UNICC technical team, on a cost recovery basis through IMTD/IT Service Center (ITSC) in HQ-Gaza.

United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) is a UN agency that provides IT services to other UN agencies on a cost recovery basis.

UNRWA Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is seeking a Power BI Specialist for Service Desk Management who will be responsible for supporting the Service Management Group (OPX) activities with focus on service reporting and meetings. The resource will work under the direct supervision and guidance of Head, OPX.
The consultant will report administratively to Head Information Technology Service Centre in Headquarter Gaza and technically to United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC).

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and build reports and dashboards using Power BI to support Service Management.
• Facilitate service review meetings with internal teams.
• Follow up on actions from service review meetings.
• Troubleshoot and analyze issues with reports.
• Mentor, collaborate with, and advise team members on Microsoft Power BI.
• Assist in service management activities including internal audits, risk assessments.
• Perform other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Computer Science, Information.
Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Good knowledge of Transact SQL, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
• Good knowledge of enterprise ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

• Knowledge in defining and implementing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Knowledge of ITIL and ISO 20000 standard.
• Ability to perform in a functional and technical capacity.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
• Excellent writing and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
• Certification in Power BI.
• ITIL intermediate certification.
• ISO 20000 foundation or practitioner certification.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
• The duration of the consultancy is 6 to 11 months, extendable according to performance and availability of funds.
• Remuneration for this consultancy will depend on the qualifications and relevant years of experience as follows:
   o Cluster A $1,600
   o Cluster B $1,800
