Overview of position:
The objective of this project is to respond to the needs of households that have been totally or partially damaged along with the households that are in a substandard state and in dire need for upgrades and repairs by rehabilitating substandard houses in the Gaza strip.


The response to reconstruction and substandard needs aims to:
- Support vulnerable families with shelter related issues.
- Improve protection from extreme weather conditions e.g. cold, extreme heat, gusty winds, and wet weather.
- Improve hygiene and access to water and sanitation facilities.
- Contribute to solving the problem of overcrowded houses by creating new spaces through rearrangement to ensure privacy and dignity.


Role objectives:
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Site Engineer, the Data Entry Operator/Project Officer will be responsible for the data management of the project in the Self Build Module (SBM) system for each beneficiary of the substandard grant of the project. The Data Entry Operator will not only collect and upload data in the project databases and maintain accurate records of valuable project information but will primarily support the data management needs for the project and maintain updated project information on the online systems.

To Senior Site Engineer.

- High professionally in computer use with Google Docs, Google Sheets, and the internet.

Further information:
- Collect, record, and organize all documents and other relevant information handed over by the engineers and stakeholders.
- Ensure of proper archiving/saving of the data collected and the maintenance of the equipment used in the field assessment as per established procedures.
- Protects operations by keeping beneficiary’s information confidential.
- Enters project data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format.
- Verify the information and accuracy of the data before processing it into project database and online system.
- Verifies entered project data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or re-entering data.
- Secures information by completing database backups.
- Ensure data is submitted in due time.
- Organize and document work to allow for planned and unplanned handovers.
- Report daily on data processing activities to the Senior Engineer and make relevant recommendations.
- Identify inconsistencies, inaccuracies and omissions in data submitted by stakeholders and communicate proactively with them to ensure accurate data submission.
- Prepare and revise contracts, handover agreements and other documents related to the beneficiaries.
- Maintains updated database by entering new beneficiaries’ information.
- Assist the senior engineer during the commencement and completion activities of the shelter upgrade/repair.
- Prepare periodic reports as determined by the Senior engineer.
- Create and maintain an updated list of selected beneficiaries.
- Resolves deficiencies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the senior engineer for resolution.
- Report all errors, omissions, discrepancies, and deficiencies to the Senior engineer.
- Tests the online system changes and upgrades by inputting new data.
- Actively support the senior engineer and all relevant stakeholders with the supply of data and information according to project needs.
- Assist the senior engineer in hand over and closing of the project.
- Upload the signed contract and legal documents on the shared drive in a timely manner.
- Share the signed vendor forms with the project associate.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager or the Senior engineer.
